In the US, the tipping point was reached in late 2021. While the country initially lagged, EV sales have steadily increased, accounting for 8.1% of auto sales last quarter. The adoption curve suggests that even countries initially slow to embrace EVs can rapidly accelerate once key barriers are overcome.<\/p>\n
Globally, the EV tipping point was crossed in 2021, and by the end of 2023, fully electric cars made up about 12% of new car sales worldwide. This growth is driven by decreasing battery prices, expanding charging networks, and improving vehicle performance.<\/p>\n
In Canada Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV\u2019s) including hybrids accounted for more than 10% of all new vehicle registrations in 2023 for the first time.<\/p>\n
