The Solar Gel battery contains electrolyte that is permanently locked in a thixotropic gel, instead of conventional messy liquid acid, offering many significant advantages over traditional liquid acid deep-cycle batteries.

The Solar Gel battery requires absolutely no maintenance, eliminating the need to check liquid levels or add water. The Solar Gel battery also recharges substantially faster than conventional liquid acid batteries. Designed for convenient transportation, the Solar Gel battery can be transported by air without the need for special containers.

Because there is no liquid electrolyte to leak or spill out of the battery, the Solar Gel battery can be easily installed in hard-to-reach locations. The Solar Gel battery is also extremely shock resistant under the most demanding conditions. While most conventional liquid acid batteries self-discharge at 10 to 25%, the Solar Gel battery has a self discharge rate of less than 2% per month (at 77°F). This means that you can leave it for months without worrying about recharging. The gelled construction also eliminates vibration damage to plates.
